I've been thinking... and... maybe it would just help me fit in a little more if.... maybe I called you Mom too?", she suggested, going a little red. Her hands nervously played with the dress, and she chewed her bottom lip as she watched Amber's reaction.

*seems a bit taken back* Um... well, I... I guess, it's alright, but... *finishes tucking in the bedsheets and turns to Edna, clearly flustered* What I'm trying to say is... erm, well... I mean, you're only going to be with us for six months or so... four, if everything goes well. Calling me Mom is... well, it makes me feel like I officially adopted you or something. It's not like it's going to be a permanent thing, or anything. Are you still alright with calling me that?

Seeing the reaction, Edna winces, "Oh... right. Sorry... ", she murmured, before turning and hurrying back up the stairs, and through the house. With a rather disappointed look on her face, she slumped back into her seat at the little table.

Ezekiel: *looks at Edna questioningly, seeming to sense that something's out of place* Sister... upset?

*Echo walks over to Edna's seat and reaches up with a paw, meowing inquisitively.*

Seeing the reaction, Edna winces, "Oh... right. Sorry... ", she murmured, before turning and hurrying back up the stairs, and through the house. With a rather disappointed look on her face, she slumped back into her seat at the little table.

*Circe watches Edna return to the patio.* Well, looks like someone's not terribly happy...

Edna lifted her head slightly, peering over at Ezekiel. After staring for a moment, a little smile spread across her lips. Climbing back up to her feet, she headed over to the young boy, and sat down beside him. "You... really think of me as your sister?", she asked, and then turned to Echo, grasping at the offered paw, her smile growing a little more!

Eebon: *rejoins them at the table* Why wouldn't we? Gaw. ...Oh, and here's your Cherry Coke. *hands the drink to Edna*

Ezekiel: Sis... happy. Please?

*Echo purrs a bit.*

Ellen: *from the pool* ...We are the Harrisons. Family is who we are.

Hey kiddos. *Waves to any that might still be where he had wondered to.* Now let see if I can't get a few slices of some pepperoni. *Looks around for the pizzas.*

*Ezekiel squeals a bit and tries to escape---sort of---by jumping behind one of the chairs, giggling. Both Eebon and Echo look amused by this.*

Eebon: *waves, grinning* Hi, godpapa! All the pizza's in the kitchen. Dad's guarding it. Gaw.

*Ellen, a bit preoccupied, looks up and nods at Raleigh before watching Edna and Ezekiel play some more.*

Enda laughed, her dress swishing as she hopped out of her chair to chase the youngster around the chair. "I got you!".

*Ezekiel giggles and starts to circle the table. He doesn't run too quickly---he is a child, after all. Eebon grins as she watches them play.*

Ellen: ...'Round and 'round they go, where they stop... eh, whatever.

Edna scoops Ezekiel up off his feet, and into a warm hug. She beams at Eebon, before settling back down onto her chair, now with the youngster on her lap. "Thanks for making me feel welcome... all of you".

*Ezekiel squirms a bit, looking up at Edna with a smile on his face, but makes no attempt to escape.*

Eebon: *winks* No sweats. There's nothing else we would've done. Gaw.

Echo: You're welcome.

Ellen: ... Don't mention it. ...And don't forget to get your pizza from the kitchen, if you haven't already. *lowers her book, relaxing in her pool chair a bit*

*Elk is heard singing along with the background music.*

"Oh right, pizza!", she said, gently easing Ezekiel back down onto his feet, before she hurried to the table with all the pizza, blushing as she saw Raleigh lurking around it. After a moment's hesitation, she stepped up and grabbed a slice!
