Expected Guests

[Mendi-chan]

*The gates of Muffingakure open wide as Mendo stands at the front, ready to meet the invited envoy from the CTC. Behind him the guards are on alert, standing in the guard towards attentively searching the skies for anything suspicious... though this is largely unseen by those without intimate knowledge of the area. The mix of urban and feudal buildings within the small city gives it a bit of a quaint feel, and the large building on the far side of the city stands as a testament to the progress of the hardworking people of the village. It, itself, is the Kage's building, and was the head of the entire village's governmental and administrative structure. *

I do hope that woman isn't late... I pulled alot of strings to get the elders to agree to this.

Right on time, the sound of an approaching rotorcraft can be heard, echoing off of the distant hills. Soon enough, the shape of one of the CTC's tilt-rotor aircraft appears, descending to land a short distance outside of the city -- far enough to appear relatively non-threatening, but not so far as to make a walk to the village difficult.

Once the aircraft has set down, its crew disembark to secure it, while a small squad of CTC soldiers in body armor and carrying electrolasers takes up a defensive position around the aircraft. Finally, Special Adjustant Abel disembarks, her uniform looking freshly pressed, her long silver hair gleaming in the air. She appears to be carrying a sidearm, but as she steps onto the grass, she pulls out the weapon and hands it to the squad leader, before walking over to Mendo.

"Mendokusee zei Ulthoth," she says in greetings, using his full name. "It is a pleasure to see you again, and once again I'd like to say I'm honored you are willing to permit me to meet with you and the people you protect."

[Mendi-chan]

*The ninja extends his hand for a shake, himself now dressed in his much less intimidating ninja uniform. She may notice that he has a few extra markings on his green vest, but other than that he seems to be dressed rather plainly.*
Oh, it's not a problem... Though, as we discussed previously, I'm going to have to have an escort insure that this diplomatic mission... er... remains diplomatic. I know you understand. Her name's Blaze, and I'm sure you'll find her a very capable guide.

[Blaze]

Blaze stands to attention behind Mendo, her dress ironed and presentable, her boots polished and her expression unreadable. She has her Muffingakure headband tied around her waist. She has no visible weapons as usual, but she now has several scrolls hanging from her headband-belt. She bows her head to Abel.

"It is nice to meet you."

[Ebony]

*Possibly unnoticed but likely just ignored, a black cat slinks out of the CTC rotorcraft and begins to trot around the guards. It would seem she is currently just doing cat like things whenever anyone is observing her but steadily working her way toward the village entrance all the same.*

Abel shakes Mendo's hand. "I understand, and have no objection to your precautions." At Blaze's introduction, she quirks an eyebrow, turning to study her. "Interesting..." The silver-haired woman returns Blaze's nod politely. "It's a pleasure to meet you as well, Blaze."

Meanwhile, a black cat slinks off of the CTC aircraft! A cat on board a military aircraft wouldn't really go ignored, particularly in a world such as this one... but fortunately, the soldiers are primarily concerned with the possibility of an outward threat, and thus not paying particular attention to a stowaway who sneaks off of their vertol unnoticed. And once its in the grass, well... it could just be a local cat, couldn't it?

[Mendi-chan]

*The guards of the village do little about a stray cat wandering about on the outskirts of the village. The stealthy feline's biggest threat at this point was being seen by a child who may want to take it in as their own.*

*Mendo maintains an amorous smile while motioning the group to follow him. Quickly they make their way through the streets. Busy NPCs shuffle about this way and that, and a few even smile to the group and offer them a look at their wares, various and sundry items that would probably be of no interest at all. In any case, it seems the economy of the little village is thriving. Mendo nudges Blaze, quietly speaking to her as he leads the group forward.*
I'm a little concerned about the areas our guest may be interested in, so... just keep an eye out for any shenanigans, okay?
*He nods back to Abel, smiling*
As you can see, our business district is performing rather splendidly.

[Blaze]

Blaze doesn't pay any attention to the stalls or the NPCs. Instead, her eyes constantly flick around, looking out for any threats, either to the CTC, or from the CTC.

When Mendo whispers some instructions to her, she nods slightly to indicate she heard.

*The question would really be if the cat was actually aboard the rotor craft the whole time or if she just used it as a point of entry. As the cat passes the outer gate into the village she taps the side of it with her tail. She cavorts into the city more or less near the group as it travels. She stops to steal and eat a fish from a vendor before taking to the roofs to follow the group from a higher position while she can.*

*Mendo maintains an amorous smile while motioning the group to follow him. Quickly they make their way through the streets. Busy NPCs shuffle about this way and that, and a few even smile to the group and offer them a look at their wares, various and sundry items that would probably be of no interest at all. Abel returns any pleasant smiles with a nod and a smile of her own, and, oddly enough, tries to stop and take the time to examine the wares from a number of stalls, asking a few questions about the craftsmanship and value of the goods.

At Mendo's comment, she nods to him. "So it seems. I will admit, I'm actually rather surprised. Given the relative isolation and secrecy surrounding your community, I had expected your economy to be rather insular, with perhaps a minimum of trade. In such an environment, I would've expected a somewhat stagnant economy, but your business district is quite busy and thriving. It's rather commendable towards the work ethic and creativity of your village."

[AmbushCat]

*Callista can be seen walking by, an armful of various goods under her arm. Overhearing Abel, she grins and speaks without turning to face them*
And the service here rocks, too! *waves, then departs*

*Mendo chuckles as they pause to sample the village's wares...*
Well, I must admit it is a bit of a surprise, but our village does maintain stable relations with the rest of the Muffin Continent.
Though, that isn't to take anything away from our people, who are quite ingenious and creative. Heh.

*He smiles, leading them forward... until they stop out the outside of the Kage's building*
Rather than bore you with the menial details of how our governmental structure works, I'll just explain that this building is very important. Thusly, this is where everything important happens.

Abel glances at Mendo, and nods. "Ahh, I see. It's a little surprising we hadn't noticed it, but then... we haven't really put any effort into monitoring economic trends. It might be worth investigating, I suppose."

She shrugs, and follows along, until the finally arrive at the Kage's building. She looks curious at Mendo's explanation, but holds any questions for the moment, until she sees more of what goes on here.

Blaze stands behind the two leaders, remaining quiet.

*Mendo leads the group into the halls of the Kage building... a mostly administrative set up which one would find in most office buildings of this size, though from the outside one would hardly know it was an office building. Hallways, conference rooms, offices, and clerks make up the majority of what is seen here.*
The Elders are the leaders of the village, governing the policies, rules, regulations, and official business of the village. I would... technically be the Kage currently, though it could be said that the village is in a bit of a transitional period. I won't hold this position forever, obviously.
