"Second floor, between astronomy and oceanology... you know, I've never even been in here before. The last time I came to a museum of any kind was elementary school. It might be interesting to take a look around when the thief is safely behind bars. As for it being the perfect place for an ambush... that's exactly what I need. I'm betting they're going to try and steal more before they leave, but I'll be waiting if they go after those stones... ", he informed the cop. "Come up and find me if you get bored".

And with that, he turned and walked away from the curator's office. In the back of his head, there was a nagging sensation that they were being watched... but he tried to convince himself there was no way that letter had been meant for him. Following the signs to the staircase, he peered upwards as he climbed, and cautiously peeked around the corner when he reached the top.

*As Delphi almost stumbles over the candle, Echi radios back to him..."Whatever is going on down there is causing thee spectromagic meters to react like crazy"

"Got you. Looks like some kind of lite Blue wax candle. Lock onto it if you can and teleport it if you can to a stasis field holding lab for examination." Delphi says as he pushes some of the wax with a microphone...

@ Elliot-Chan

Arriving at the top of the spiraling suspension staircase (a marvel of engineering), Elliot finds himself in an open area full of stuffed animals from the African and Asian continent. To his immediate right he will see a pride of lions feasting on the corpse of a slain faux zebra while to his right a menagerie of parrots, love birds to be exact, look on as a troop of baboons groom each others for fleas. Up ahead though lies his destination however, the Hall of Minerals, a pitch black hallway tucked between a display of meteorites the museum has calculated and cataloged over the last century. Fortunately a neon sign points the way...

The trail of blue rose petals is also very helpful.

@ Delphi and Friends

The blue candle is cooperative for the trio of investigators, providing no hurdle in its transport to the stasis hold. If either Echi or Del were to continue their search, they would find further masses of the strange energy throughout the area, the majority seem to discretely clustered around the display that once housed the Eye of Tim. Further investigation on their part will reveal further candles (all light-blue), some in better state than others. On the fresher candles appears what looks like kanji, the word for Illusion to be exact.

What could it mean?

The stuffed animals were quite a sight, and Elliot found himself wandering slowly amongst them, before remembering he was racing against the clock to catch a thief. Moving towards the dark hallway, he couldn't believe he'd failed to bring a torch along with him. It was going to be pretty hard to catch a thief in the act if he couldn't even see the potential target of the robbery. The blue rose petals on the floor brought the blush back to his cheeks, reminding him of the embarrassingly worded note in his pocket as he crept into the darkness, brushing one hand along the wall to try and guide himself, taking slow and soft steps, wanting to make as little noise as possible, in order to be able to listen out for the thief!

@ Elliot-Chan:

As soon as the boy enters the dark hallway, the power mysteriously turns on, illuminating the exhibit in the pale glow of the countless display cases. The unorthodox light source reveals further blue petals, creating a makeshift pathway that leads deeper into the museum...

A startled gasp rose up from Elliot's throat as the lights came on. It took a moment or two for his eyes to adjust, squinting and holding his hands up infront of them. He almost staggered right into one of the display cases, before noticing the trail of blue petals. Chewing his bottom lip, he peered down the hall at the trail, and then looked around the room. Following the trail seemed like such a silly idea, but it was also kind of obvious that he wasn't going to be staging any ambush of his own by waiting around here. Drawing a deep breath, he brushed his longish blonde hair back from his face and nervously headed deeper into the museum along the pathway of petals.

The mysterious trail of petals lead deeper and deeper into the exhibit, past countless display of precious gemstones mined from both within the pastry lands and from distant lands such as Hither and Yon. They lead the androgynous boy past a display of amethysts and a jade vase hailing from an ancient kingdom of the Far East, finally ending at a lone case tucked in the corner of the room. The display hosts a rare red sapphire nicknamed the Sapphire Che-Cherry, a heart sized jewel that has painstakingly crafted into a flawless depiction of a Red fruit by a local artist...

Dact nods. "Interesting... I am investigating the theft of the Eye of Tim. I'm not certain of it... but I believe your capture has something to do with it. Can you think of a reason someone would want you out of the way?"

Del radios back to Delphi..."We got it...Looks like there are more of those same type energy signatures down there..."
"I'm going to start the lab scans on this one..."Echi says and heads to the lab and start her scans and examinations...

"Keep me posted on your findings, I'm going to keep investigating those other locations." Delphi says. Heading over to the other points he finds the fresher candles with the Kanji on them..."Illusion? Who uses these types of items and what is their interest or use in the Eye of Tim...Hmm, could the fiend be hiding in plain sight and not even be visible to the normal spectrum? What power does these candles hold that can possibly hide them...Del, see if there are any traceable tracks thru the full spectrum scans and tell me of all heat sources in and near this building. Let's see how well our magician can hide."

@ Sir-Dact:

"The Eye of Tim has been stolen?" replies the Professor. "That is most unfortunate. That is a priceless treasure belonging to the people of Distant Lands. How sad that it is in the hands of a criminal... As to your question, I can't think of a plausible reason for someone to kidnap and transform me against my will. I mean my doctorate is in Egyptology. I neither specialize in mineralogy nor in the history or politics of nation of Distant Lands... Its a mystery." :P

The sound of a disembodied Spanish guitar twangs as a gust of wind snuffs out the flame of Sir Dact's lantern (Even if it happens to be electrical. Its just that creepy a gust of wind!) ;)

"Perhaps I could shed some light on things?"

@ Delphi and Friends:

Del's scans do not pick up any peculiar heat sources on the first floor of the museum yet their scans show signs of strange energy clusters coming from both the Second Floor of the Museum and from the nearby Egyptology hall. On the screen this effect may appear like a ripple in a pound.

Back in the lab, Echi's analysis may make a shocking discovery! The candles themselves are made of a wax native to the Far East yet intermingled with the wax are bits of a fruit. Further analysis will be required in order to determine which variety however...

The lantern does happen to be lit by flame! Dact blinks in the current darkness.

Del radios back to Delphi..."Hey boss, this stuff is all over the place on the monitors, but no real heat signatures. It looks like there are more pockets of the stuff in the Egyptology area and on the second floor as well"

"... got it. I will head there in a moment. I always wanted to get a full scan of this corset of change and see what makes it work." Delphi says as he steps over to the item...

Echi sees the components in the wax and pulls up the codex of known fruits for comparison..."The wax is new, but which of these fruits cause this kind of ...change?" she says as she starts to realize something about the medium of delivery...

Elliot crept along the hallway, pausing to peer into the display cases, noting nothing seemed to have been stolen yet. He even took the time to read the information on each stone, in the hope of gathering further clues. When the trail came to a stop in the corner, he looked over the sapphire, pulling out his phone to take a picture of the information card. After glancing over his shoulder, he reached out, gently taking the red stone from it's stand, and then backed away, moving to crouch behind another of the cabinets. Holding the Sapphire Che-Cherry in one hand, he dug into the pocket of his shorts with the other, pulling out the letter and reading over it again while he waited.
