Hunt for Green Baracuda

Bones watches Ambush sink into the floor, wondering if his feline friend makes a regular habit of sleeping about nuclear submarines. Shrugging he turns back to the camera, grinning as only Lord Bones can.

"Gentlemen! Ladies! Gentlemen soon to be ladies! BEHOLD! The power of Bones!"

Pressing the custom red button, the lights aboard the submarine flicker momentarily as the MORPHEUS quickly springs to life. To those with sensitivity to psychic energies, a strange hymn begins to float through the air. This wave of telepathic energy will no doubt cause erratic behavior on the CTC's surveillance systems...

Meanwhile, in his sanctum Bones lets out an evil laugh, hamming it up as usual.

"Behold! The power of the MORPHEUS!"

Commander Pleasance frowns as her displays start to show signs of static and interference.

"Commander, we've detected an energy wave of unusual nature, most likely with some kind of psychic component. It appears to be having a negative effect on our systems."

Lily cocks her head slightly. "Hmm... that song...?"

The commander nods. "Non-automated vessels should try and steer clear of the radius of effect of that wave," she states. "As for drones and other automated units, have all controllers switch to channel 2, to prevent subversion."

"We're starting to detect anomalous behavior in Muffinville, commander."

Commander Pleasance nods again. "Keep observing the situation. Put Academy City on alert, though."

(( Yeah, that's right, I'm switching my controller to the other slot, Psycho Mantis! ))

Elliot's pondering was interrupted by the odd sensations that spread through him, one hand pressing over his tummy as the nausea set in. Then came the sharp tingle, and he started to panic that Bones was about to do something big. Moving towards the door of the electronic store, he stumbled as his senses were numbed, the distortion of sight and sound almost throwing he him off his feet. By the time he recovered, he was leaning into the window, bringing him that much closer to the TV screens that the image of Bones filled his field of vision. It took him a couple of seconds to realise there was an eerie silence around him, and he turned around to stare in confusion at the deserted ocean-front street.

"This can't be good... ", he muttered, still feeling off as he went to push open the door of the electronics store so he could get the audio to go with the TV images.

Inside the Green Barracuda the curious mermaid will notice various Chibi pacing about, each performing his assigned duty aboard the sub. In the center she may notice a strange device crackling with blue electric current, the MORPHEUS!

.... It would seem that the Chibi are unaware of the mermaid's presence. That or they are too busy to notice.

The mermaid gives a curious 'tap tap' on the glass, trying to grab attention.


Meanwhile, upon the surface, Konoko frowns at the psychic energy. "Well, someone's being a jerk." She muttered, blocking off the excess energy and going about her business of whatever she was doing. "... though I feel a sudden urge to kick Bones' butt later."

Konoko successfully manages to block out the telepathic wave and therefore does not pass out like the other civilians on the coast who stare blankly up at the blue sky overhead. Nonetheless the power behind this strange energy is curiously strong, almost as though the wave was created by more than one entity.

And, if only for a moment, the girl might just hear the faint sound of 'whispers' in the air. How ominous!

The drones tactic proves surprisingly effective, rendering them immune to the MORPHEUS' interference.

Meanwhile, the CTC might be receiving reports of citizens along the shoreline entering a curious stupor. However, there appears to be no sightings of the Green Barracuda at this time.


As Elliot approaches the television, he can just barely make out what Bones is saying.

"....yes, feel the morpheus power consume you from within. give into your desire and surrender..."

"It's strange isn't it?" inquires a soft voice from behind Elliot. "How could the council allow such a mad man to operate freely in the city?"


The mermaid attracts the attention of one of the senior ranking Chibi, an elderly ninja with a long silvery beard. The officer waves at the mermaid, a kind, gentle smile on his face.

Elliot got as close to the television as possible, straining to hear, one finger pushing into his ear and wriggling around before the voice came from behind him. He still felt unsteady, light-headed, and worst of all, sick. "The council... keep an eye on him... ", he muttered in an annoyed tone, his hair flicking about as he turned around to confront the one that had spoke, "We're going to... stop him".

[Maiden Miki]

As Miki relaxes in her chair a shadow casts itself over her, blocking out the sun's rays. The sound of the waves crashing onto the shoreline diminishes, and the excited voices of beachcombers go silent...

"Hmm...." said Miki as she noticed the shadow that was hanging over her. She opens her eyes and lifts the sunglasses.

"A girl can't relax," said Miki as she looked up in the sky to see what was blocking out the sun.

A lone figure stands in front of Miki, blocking the light. Given his odd position, its hard to make out his appearance at this point...


Elliot turns to see a strange boy wearing a forest green jacket standing next to him. He has a very lean build, almost androgynous. Could he have been separated from Elliot at birth? Given that this is not an afternoon soap opera, not likely...

"You don't look to well" says the boy, quite concerned. "Are you feeling alright, miss?"

"Excuse me," said Miki as she tries to get a good look at the figure. She moves up a bit in her chair to get a better look at him. "You are in my light. Could you please move out of the way."

Elliot stared at the boy for a moment, and then his eyes widened a little, the similarities being noted. The only thing that broke him out of the gazing was the boy's mistaken address of 'Miss'. "Hey, I'm a guy! I thought you of all people wouldn't have made that mistake", he blushed. "I... I'm feeling a little nauseous, but I have work to do. Bones is up to something big... ", he muttered, pointing back at the television. "Do you... work here?".

Upon adjusting her gaze Miki finds a strapping young man standing before her!

"Oh! My apologies!" he says, rubbing the back oh his head. "I didn't see you there miss..."


"My apologies," says the boy blushing. "Given your delicate face I could have sworn you were a girl. My name is Akihiko and, like you I was drawn here by the chaos going on outside..."

He places his hand on Elliot's shoulder, causing the symptoms to recede.

"Do you feel better now?" ^_^


Bones would reply that it is much cozier in his chair but there is nothing to respond to!

"Oh! My apologies!" he says, rubbing the back oh his head. "I didn't see you there miss..."

"Hello," said Miki as she looks up at the muscle bound man. She scans the man from head to toe and nodded. "It is okay. If you don't mind try moving a bit to the left."

The CTC drones start to proceed along the shoreline around Muffinville, examining the state of the citizens!

Meanwhile, Commander Pleasance taps her fingers on her chair. "Manned vessels can't really search for Bones' ship..." she muses, before finally toggling another display.

"Blue Steel, find the submarine controlling this signal."

"Affirmative."

Deep in the sea... another vessel stirs, beginning the hunt...

As the symptoms faded away, Elliot found himself leaning a little closer to the boy, nodding his head. "Yeah... thanks, man. How did you do that?". He studied Akihiko in greater detail now, blushing a little himself. "People make that mistake a lot. I'm Elliot. Nice to meet you", he said, reaching a hand out to him. "Did you hear what Bones said on the TV? I missed it...".
