Dan gives Circe an even more curious look, "Ambush cat?... Is there an invisible cat on you?.." If it wasn't for being in this magical strange world, Dan might have started to doubt Circe's sanity. But then he caught a glimpse of something in Circe's iris. "Uh-erm.. a cat in you??..", he asks trying to correct himself.

...There's a trap here, isn't there?

Now that you mention it, one of the maids on your staff is a feminine-looking guy in a dress.

Dan gives Circe an even more curious look, "Ambush cat?... Is there an invisible cat on you?.." If it wasn't for being in this magical strange world, Dan might have started to doubt Circe's sanity. But then he caught a glimpse of something in Circe's iris. "Uh-erm.. a cat in you??..", he asks trying to correct himself.

*waves cheerfully* Just an innocent on-looker, don't mind me!

Like I said, his name's Ambush Cat. He does stuff like this a lot...

He takes a step back getting a bit more nervous now. "He does..? Just appearing anywhere?... Umm, how long has he been listening?", Dan asks in a whisper, even though it was rather silly since Ambush was as close by as Circe was. Tightening his grip on his backpack, unsure if this sneaky cat would be a danger to his lamp or not.

Oh, I'm sure that's true of more than one... But that's not the point here! Can you leave my eye or not?

I probably could. The question is, do I want to?

He takes a step back getting a bit more nervous now. "He does..? Just appearing anywhere?... Umm, how long has he been listening?", Dan asks in a whisper, even though it was rather silly since Ambush was as close by as Circe was. Tightening his grip on his backpack, unsure if this sneaky cat would be a danger to his lamp or not.

*Dan finds that the cat is now much more audible.*

The very nature of a genie's lamp keeps me from eating it, kid. You're fine.

Dan yelps and jumps back in surprise, "Ahh~! It is talking to me!.."
Though come to think of it, this isn't the first cat that talked to him while being there... Maybe this 'Ambush cat' was related to Echo and Eebon perhaps? But what would those odds be? But then Dan's train of thought gets interrupted by something specific in the cat's comment... "W-wait.. eat?? You eat.. magical stuff?.."

Yeppers. If it ain't runed or containing iron, it may as well be an appetizer.

He reacts nervously, pulling his goggles from the top of his head to lower around his neck, so they were harder to take off, not sure if there were any iron in them, but why risk it, right?...
Carrying on with the conversation, keeping an eye on the cat in the eye, "So.. Miss Circe, can you please enchant my bag so that only I--" Then it began to draw on him that for some time now he was looking Circe directly in the eyes, he shortly flinched a bit and quickly looked down blushing. "... S-so only I.. can open it?..", he asks offering his backpack.

I kind of doubt I'd forget you there...

He reacts nervously, pulling his goggles from the top of his head to lower around his neck, so they were harder to take off, not sure if there were any iron in them, but why risk it, right?...
Carrying on with the conversation, keeping an eye on the cat in the eye, "So.. All right, give it here. *Circe takes the bag and casts a spell over it, cuasing it to glow for just a moment before she hands it back.* And that should do it.

Examining the backpack, besides the glow of it earlier it didn't look all that different, so he asks, "T-thanks... Now it will only open for me?... Umm, can you still open it, since you put the enchantment on it?"

Off to the color fruits, then! Marie looks and sniffs for things that resemble a banana mixed with a tangerine. She hasn't actually directly encountered a banangerine plant or even fruit before, but this seems like a reasonable enough way to find one.

Examining the backpack, besides the glow of it earlier it didn't look all that different, so he asks, "T-thanks... Now it will only open for me?... Umm, can you still open it, since you put the enchantment on it?"

I said only you could open it, didn't I? If'd meant that only you and I could open it, I would have said that.

*After just a bit of searching, Marie sniffs out a tree bearing some sort of banana/tangerine hybrid as fruit. This must be it!*

"Ahh, y-yeah.. sorry... I understand...", he says meekly giving a nervous nod.
Quickly changing the topic. "So umm.. are talking cats common around here? Or is this cat somehow related to Echo perhaps?... Come to think of it, he kinda looks like him.. hmm...", Dan says wondering out loud but then he sees the cat in the Circe's eye turns into an apple... Remembering the warning to watch out for weird fruits, maybe this was a reason why... Maybe some fruits were sentient beings disguised as fruit!
