Outbreak

[Raleigh]

*Inside Drakecorp Tower there is an alarm blaring loudly. Several people are scrambling about to check various containers throughout the building desperately in search of a special canister.* Raleigh: Has anyone found it yet? Chimera was only meant for self contained testing purposes. I don't want an outbreak of it in Muffinville.

Scarlet: Sir, it would appear there are no records of it ever leaving containment and no one saw anything suspicious. It would require one of your kind for it to get out of here unseen due to the security measures we have been using.

Ebony: Boss, I've found no traces of energy anywhere near storage. If I didn't know any better I would think it got up and walked out on its own.

Raleigh: Crap. That experiment was meant for me alone to use and it was a failure even when we tried it. I want the building locked down and everyone inspected even me.

*In Muffinville park a small metal briefcase can be found sitting near the fountain. It would seem it is waiting for anyone to claim it.*

((Heh, one of my favorite themes and a disease outbreak scenario. Let's see if anyone gives this a try and if I can play it correctly. Caution this one may border on the dark depending upon player choices.))

[Miku-chan]

((sounds like fun. Hehe))

Zatsune and Miku both teleport in ..." what's with the magic alarms pops?" Zatsune asks.

"I felt it three levels away Sensei" Miku also replies...

Kaiko wanders into the park and sits down at the fountain. She notices the case and steps over to pick it up..."I wonder who this belongs to?" she asks outloud

[Chris Thorn]

A man wearing a slightly tattered dark blue Serafuku lay against a tree near the fountain. Reaching into his backpack he retrieved a soda bottle filled with a blue liquid, which he started drinking while looking about. Noticing Kaiko by the briefcase, he gives a brief nod.

I'm not sure. I didn't see it get left behind..

[Miku-chan]

Kaiko jumps and spims around to face the young man who was speaking, almost hitting him with the briefcase...">Eeeep!!!<..."

[Chris Thorn]

Chris stands up, picks the briefcase up from the ground next to him and walks towards Kaiko.

Nice throw. Good thing this grass is so soft.. would hate for that to be broken..

He stands the briefcase on the edge of the fountain, and steps back.

[Miku-chan]

Kaiko frowns slightly at the Seifuku wearing man before picking the case back up in a defiant gesture trying to hide her embarrassment..."Then I'll take this to the police and let them deal with it."

[Raleigh]

Raleigh: We seem to have misplaced a rather important if failed project. I'm sure you are aware of my habit of absorbing the memories and possible, if needed, physical traits of those I defeat. After some time of debating about it I gave the go ahead to create a bio weapon that would confer a similar ability to those it infects. During testing though we found it amped up the aggressiveness of those it infected. It was meant to be used on worlds that were marked for destruction and to save me time. The fact that its final result is an ultimate being made up of a amalgamation of all life on that planet for me to fight with and then absorb is just a happy side effect. Ultimately the project was canned though since we found it neither gained me anything more than the normal process nor did it seem to work well when introduced to some of my monster samples as they got out of hand and we lost that lab and half a country.

*The case seems to take all the tossing and turning well though one of the clasps holding it closed has worked loose. There are another two.*

He sits on the side of the fountain, next to the case, and watches Kaiko

Sure Mate, good idea.. shall I come with?
[Now I wonder, who is running the police these days?]

Zatsune:..."Or was it the half Dragon/half rock troll wars on Gallina Prime and Osiris?"

Kaiko looks at the man suspiciously, but her curious nature puts his appearance aside while she plays absently with the latches on the case..."Ummm...sure. I think I saw a substation nearby." she finally replies.

[Raleigh]

Raleigh: I do believe it had nothing to do with the first one and the second one was only marginally influenced by it. That first incident was caused by someone finding one of those books while the second occurred due to one of my former employees trying to recreate the stuff themselves without some of the resources this company could provide.

*Keiko has successfully unlocked all three catches, locked two back, and broken the third with all her fiddling with them.*

[Miku-chan]

Miku grins as Zatsune hands over a 500 gilder note...

Miku:" I always knew it...Delphi's database recorded it, but no one would believe me."

Zatsune:" I still want to know how his books turned up on Osiris after the burnings on Gallena Prime though..."

Kaiko starts to head towards the direction indicated, swinging the case without noticing the broken hasp and continuing to fiddle with the others..."Well, I'm going then."

*follows along* "I may be of use.."

[Raleigh]

Raleigh: So you two want to help me look for it or shall we start taking bets on the results amongst this population?

*After a small bit of time looking for the police the inevitable happens and one swing of the case causes it to fly open and sent a small glass containment unit flying. At either end of it are bio-hazard warning stickers and some writing in a non-native language.*

[Miku-chan]

Zatsune:..."Well as much fun as wagering on the outcomes would bee...ah what the hey, give me 20000 on mass slautter and mayhem..." she grins as she pulls out a Padd looking device. On it's screen is a radar looking display showing all the magical, tech and energy based life forms within the area, including a lock on a certain aspect of Raleigh standing next to her and Miku...

Miku..."Zatsune, that is not a fair way to base a wager..." she pulls out her own Padd showing magical algorithms for most of the creatures in this building...and a few that are currently missing besides the chimera. Miku grows a bit at that info..."Um Sensei, did you know you were missing these as well?"
Her screen shows a dwarf elephant, a skeletal based gryffin, one unemployed Detroit brick layer and 3 gu'home gnomes of questionable design...((Yes I was listening to a Terry Brooks audiobook again...8P))

Kaiko freaks and screams as she is startled by the case suddenly opening as it did. She runs in the same direction as the vial, but not because she is trying to stop it from breaking. No her panic stricken run is only luck...either good or bad...

[Raleigh]

The brick layer and the gnomes are busy tending to some construction work for me. Louis' Pizza got destroyed the other day when one of my other experiments in the underground facilities went off so I'm having it rebuilt much like Louis himself. Poor guy was turned to ashes. The gryffin is, shall we say, executing duties at the moment. The dwarf elephant though I'm unsure of. Probably one of the employee's got drunk again so he is busy pestering them. *Makes note of Zatsune's bet.* Perhaps. There is the chance that it might mutate here. Perhaps those afflicted will pick to adapt other traits from their victims rather than their strength of arms. Perhaps one of the women afflicted might beat down another woman because she thinks she has better breasts or something and claim that by way of the virus. Eh, who knows how this will turn out in this realm?

*The vial spins through the air surely to hit that brick wall nearby. Oddly enough though Kaiko manages to fall in such a way that she successfully catches it before it shatters upon the wall. Sadly however her fall startles a man from Detroit who had been working on said wall and he drops his trowel which is now hurtling toward the vial.*
