A portal, or is it?

Postby Lanzerus » Fri Apr 22, 2011 5:02 pm

A portal, something that allows you access to somewhere else, whether it be made of stone, wood, an open hole in the wall OR PURE MAGICAL INACTIVITY ENERGY, it always leads somewhere that could be more interesting than the boring things you were doing before you came across it, to some it appears to be nothing more than a plain wooden door, others its a grand granite and gold leaf door fit only for the finest of monarchs, to others its a blue and purple pulsating ring of energy.

all of these options however seem out of place as it, the portal, is floating in the middle of the muffinville park. The gentle breeze lifting as you step closer to the floating door, whether you see the door or the portal you can still feel the ambient magical energy practically diffusing into the air around it. The temperature around the area isn't much different than normal, you notice that the ground underneath the portal is sprouting flowers. As you step closer to it you hear a voice, it sounds familiar and at the same time quite odd. "Come in, but wipe your feet first."

Albedo was walking through the park, getting a little bit confused. "Now is this the portal I took to get here?" he asked to the portal as he heard the voice. Taken slightly aback by that, he had the nerve to stick a head inside the portal to take a look around where it ends up at.

Or Aperture is getting very creative possibly. *Forms from nowhere near the portal.*

Albedo, after sticking his head into the portal finds what appears to be the entranceway to an extremely large hallway. he hears the voice greet him. "Welcome, please feel free to come all the way in, even in interdimensional spaces heating and cooling gets expensive."

Albedo laughs to himself and decides whoever this is is friendly, "You want me to remove my shoes in this hallway?" he asked after getting through.

"Yes please, shoes often cause scuff marks on the wooden floors past the entrance hall. I have just recently found my way back to muffinville and I thought a good old portal to nowhere would get everyone excited again!" the voice says from further inside the building. Albedo notices that the entrance hall is in itself quite ornate, gold leafing, and silver backed mirrors line the walls complementing the stone tiled floor

at the end of the entrance way there is a T intersection, the tiles stop and it changes to oak floor panels. "Go Right, to the left is my private study." The voice says. "By the way I am lord of inactivity Lanzerus, part time wizard, part wizard of inter-dimensional planes, I also part-time at my local quicker-than-usual-shop."

Albedo finds himself face to face with someone who he was half expecting him to be wearing a suit and eating a toast point with caviar, instead sat a young man in t-shirt and jeans eating a doughnut. "Welcome I am Lanzerus, as previously stated, Lord of inactivity."

"Why yes it is, in fact it is the finest magically conjured doughnut one can get while your house is floating in the middle of the void of inactivity." Lanzerus stretches and in his hand, appearing out of thin air was an almost exact copy of the previous doughnut, yet to actually tell they were similar would take almost supervision. "No such fruit," Al said to the last one before taking and eating the donut, "So that's where this place is."

"It is a fruit, it was just that Mr.Wonka just happened to be an inter-dimensional traveler." Lanzerus coughed. " And for the other one, well lets just say it technically doesn't exist, but it does. Here almost everything you know, everything you possibly believe, is a lie." Lanzerus said "Like I could say that, " he said pointing to a vase on an end table near a bookshelf "Was actually a spaceship. If given enough time and focus here in the inactivity it could be entirely possible, or not."
