Simon, clearly not the sharpest tool in the shed wipes the tears away as he reads the book.

"Stupid dust..." *sniff*

He notices the bookmark and opens to the page it was marking.

Angela's eyes widen as the statue hits the floor and crumbles, causing the ground to shake beneath her feet, and almost causing her to fall over. She looked around the room with the cells in shock, and then staggers forward, deciding it was best to get the heck out of the place... so starts to run!

( Thanks all. I feel missed. :) )

~ Jace and Jason ~

As Jace's hand rummage through the thick layer of dust, he finally comes across something cold and heavy. After a little bit of work he uncovers what seems to be a heavy metal ring, attached to a hatch in the floor.

~ Rodmark ~

As if on cue, something plucks the panicked creature off of his head. A soft crowling comes just from behind his back...

~ Reyes ~

Deep down he dives. It's quite far a swim, can he make it? He does! His lungs feel tight by the time he reaches the statue. Now what'll he do with it? Better decide fast, 'cause air's scarce down here.

~ John ~

The sound comes from... that one? No, that one! It's the sound of a helpless creature trying hopelessly to pentrate the impassible, wooden, man-made barrier in it's path. Quite pitiful, really.

~ Marcus ~

The pain is quite painful indeed! The bit of crytal seems quite firmly lodged into his arm. At least it's stopping the bleeding, except for a slow trickle that seeps around its edges. Looking around, the chandelier is an irrepairable mess on the floor. The impact threw up a ton of dust that is only very slowly settling down. Despite the noise however, nothing seems to stir.

~ Simon ~

The book opens on a picture page, showing the captured princess melancholically gazing out a window, attended by a single maid. Oddly perhaps, while the princess appears positively gorgeous to Simon, it's the figure of the maid that draws his attention. She looks so graceful in that uniform, so elegant with her hair in braids...

Wait, is that a map on the back of the bookmark? There's a big X in the center...

~ Angela ~

The intoxicated female attempts to escape! Swaying and tripping over debris, the young woman makes her way out of the cells. A heavy grinding and crushing sound comes from the room she just vacated...

Simon found himself staring at the picture. The princess was a total babe, but what was with that maid? Why couldn't he stop staring at her? He shook his head and noticed the bookmark.

"Hm? WHat's this X?"

He picks it up and closely examines it.

Most dark castles loom forebodingly. This one, while certainly foreboding, does not loom. It dominates, it imposes, but it definitely does not loom. Even though its pitch-black shape is barely visible against the night sky, the sheer sense of size is almost enough to crush a man's spirit.

You have no idea how you got here. One moment you were going about your usual business, the next you find yourself staring at a non-looming dark castle. Looking around you shows a veil of almost palpable darkness shrouding the surroundings. Gutteral, bone-chilling animal howls are more felt than heard, closing in on you, the hapless victim. When finally the heavy wooden gates creak noisily open, you're not sure whether to feel relieved to have found a place to run to, or to dread what is waiting for you inside...

Andrew suddenly finds himself outside a dark and menacing castle! Which was odd... because he had just sat down to play some serious World of Warcraft. But all these factors can wait... those feral bloodthirsty howls did NOT sound very good. And foreboding or not, it was better than being savaged by wildlife. He scurries through the gates into the castle...
O Muse!
Sing in me, and through me tell the story
Of that man skilled in all the ways of contending,
A wanderer, harried for years on end...

John proceeded on his not so merry way, making note to not open any of the doors, specially ones with noises coming from the other side as he proceeded down the hallway. "Just how big is this place..." he mumbled under his breath as he wondered if he was going the wrong way.

Taking the lack of menacing beastie as a small miracle, Marcus eyes the unbroken window for a moment, scowling. If he ever got out of here, he would be sure to have easy-opened windows to his house installed. And he'd make sure that there weren't any hellhounds wandering the halls...

Shaking his head clear of the pain, the man wobbles slightly, and looks to see if there's any way out of the room besides the way he came in.

Jason just blinks and stares on, a few feet away from Jace, looking on, waiting to see what happens.

~ Simon ~

This map... it looks like old, wrinkled parchement. Faint lines indicate... rooms and corridors? A dotted line leads from a small room to a red X.

~ Andrew ~

He arrives... in a small courtyard. The big moon illuminates some completely overgrown flowerbeds.

~ John ~

The pitiful noises slowly fade in the distance... Then a ray of light shines through the crack of an open door...

~ Marcus ~

Left? Nothing. Right? Nothing. Forward...? In a far corner, there seems to be... a door? It's cleverly hidden in the wall, but the impact from the chandelier must've shaked loose some of the dust on the handle...

~ Rodmark ~

The answer is a pair of glowing eyes staring down at him... Belonging to a big and scary bat - made apparently of stone!

~ Jason ~

( Waiting for Jace. )

He looks around the courtyard... trying to see if there were any windows with lights in them or open doors or SOMETHING to indicate the place wasnt as deserted as he was beginning to fear it was.

Now there was something!
Taking a hesitant step, and then another, Marcus slowly hobble over to the door, doing his best to not move his arm as he does so.
He's much rather have a door out, but at the very least...it was out of the room that had just tried to kill him! Using his good hand, he grips the handle firmly and tries to slowly creak it open...

Simon blinks and puts the book away.

"This is like a treasure hunt... Maybe this room is the beginning."

He leaves the room and starts following the map, hoping that he was right.

Jace takes the metal ring and looks back at Jason. "Well... its not like we know how to get out of here" he reasons before tugging on the ring with all his might.
"Let me confirm, your shelter shield is activated?"
"What are you planning?!"
"Your shelter is secure, is it?"
"Of course it is! Just see for yourself how powerless you are!"
"...Roger that."
