Mystery of the Shunkashuutou [START]

Despite the fact that he didn't want to be here in the first place, David Eddy had to admit that this whole Shunkashuutou Festival was pretty cool. After being essentially dumped on a plane and shipped to Japan by his overcaring parents, he figured he should at least enjoy himself once in a while, especially with the abundance of girls around. The main street of the village was surrounded by small stores on both side, dirt paths flowing behind the buildings that gave the impression of leading to mysterious catacombs amidst the light of the fireworks. The now-crowded village was surrounded on both sides by a dark forest that gave off a more ominous aura in the evening then it did during the day, and a small shrine overlooked the village, sitting on a cliff you could climb to up two inclines that ran along either side of the cliff. That's where David was heading next, to pay a tribute to the local God, and as he was quickly learning, climbing those inclines was difficult. But, the view of the village from such a height was truly beautiful, with the many lights flickering and masses of people crowded into the tiny street, participating in many activities such as goldfish catching. In the distance was nothing but forest, but his eyes did graze a small clearing where there seemed to be a small structure. He was, in fact, so distracted that he wasn't aware of the fact that he was being watched from atop the cliff from which the local shrine stood.

"Anywhere from one to ten men, huh..." Tane Takasu stood atop the cliff, his eyes surveying the festival carefully, his brown hair drifting in the breeze. This curse had plagued the village for generations, and he intended on getting to the bottom of it; this year if possible...

(Introduction post, basically)

*Chiaki enters the village.* So, this is the town with the curse, huh? It looks normal enough...

A tall boy walked though the crowded streets of the small village. He looked around and could feel the festiveness in the air and guess that people were excited for this thing to start. He ran his hand though his hair and said, "Well Mako, looks like we came just in time for this party."

Mako continued to walk around the streets trying to push though the massive crowds. He had heard about this festival on the internet and heard that the people here go all out which appealed the Mako since he wanted to go to a summer festival since he is on break from his studies. Mako had heard some things about what happen in this village but he didn't care. "What the chances of me disappearing anyways. Slim to none with some many people here."

"Wow, my first week of helping out here, and there's already a festival." Ethan says, tidying up the classroom. "I hardly do anything, and now I get to enjoy a party.....not that I like parties, but I have to pretend. If I don't show up, or not seem to have fun, it could be bad diplomatically..." He heads out to the festival area.

A slightly pudgy boy with curly hair with a backpack observed the festival.

"Next year, I'll be too wrapped up in my studies to do things like this, so I'll have to have as much fun as I can now." said Zach. He shrugged his backpack int a more confortable position and went to join in on the festivities.

Auron is up in his hotel room reading a book about the legends and stories from the village from his balcony overlooking the festivities of the city. After turning a page he rubs his chin as he looks at the village. "Well it's no lockness monster, but that is one nice fairy tell to have. They probably just do it to attract tourist anyways" says Auron to himself still looking out.

Lucas walked through the crowded street with his hands in his pockets, whistling a little tune. He greeted a few people with his signature "Wassup" and continued on his way, shifting the position of his "lucky" cap every so often. His shoes scuffed casually on the streets.

He'd heard all about the strange legends and the curse and all that, but he didn't believe it for a moment. There wasn't any proof for him to see. "Pics or it didn't happen," he always says.

"Whoa, dude. Sure are a lotta cute girls around. Lucky me." He adjusts his cap again.

Myths, Legends....total garbage, but rooted in truth. A truth that would help Markus escape his bordom. So he had arrived this the town, hoping the festival would give him what he saught.

*Jarad walks into the village.*

"I wonder if there is any truth to the cursed village bit." Jarad asks as he begins to walk around.

The moon weighing heavy in the sky above, fireworks dancing around it like as if they were present at some sort of ball, an ominous wind seemed to sweep over the village, although the only person to realize it's intent was Takasu, who departed from his place atop the main shrine towards the shrine in the forest. This feeling... It was going to happen soon, and he had to get to the shrine before the victims were called there, or else he wouldn't be able to get to the bottom of things.

In the meantime, David became distracted by the thought of what lie in that shrine beyond the trees. He was, of course, oblivious to the breeze, unaware of the intent that came with it. And so, he set out. Maybe he'd find something exciting, or mysterious? The curiosity he possessed for the unknown was a little unnatural to begin with, and that shrine that seemed to be ignored by the village's majority was calling his curiosity out.

Eventually, Takasu arrived, and thankfully before everyone else, allowing him to perch himself in a tree overlooking the shrine after struggling to climb it. The people that were about to arrive at this run down building couldn't see him, at least not yet. He was there to observe after all.

Zach, in one of his daydreams had wandered into the forest and gotten himself lost. He eventually stumbled across the shrine.

"Maybe there's someone there who can point me back." he said, heading to it.

*Being drawn away from the party to the nearby forest, Jarad heads into the forest to see if there is any truth to a shrine being in there.*

"This party is so boring. I bet you the forest will be more interesting." Jarad says as he enters the forest and sees a shrine. He is oddly drawn to it.

Ugh...to many people at this damn party...going to go for a walk in the forest..." Ethan says to himself, then starts to wander into the forest.
