Despite the fact that he didn't want to be here in the first place, David Eddy had to admit that this whole Shunkashuutou Festival was pretty cool. After being essentially dumped on a plane and shipped to Japan by his overcaring parents, he figured he should at least enjoy himself once in a while, especially with the abundance of girls around. The main street of the village was surrounded by small stores on both side, dirt paths flowing behind the buildings that gave the impression of leading to mysterious catacombs amidst the light of the fireworks. The now-crowded village was surrounded on both sides by a dark forest that gave off a more ominous aura in the evening then it did during the day, and a small shrine overlooked the village, sitting on a cliff you could climb to up two inclines that ran along either side of the cliff. That's where David was heading next, to pay a tribute to the local God, and as he was quickly learning, climbing those inclines was difficult. But, the view of the village from such a height was truly beautiful, with the many lights flickering and masses of people crowded into the tiny street, participating in many activities such as goldfish catching. In the distance was nothing but forest, but his eyes did graze a small clearing where there seemed to be a small structure. He was, in fact, so distracted that he wasn't aware of the fact that he was being watched from atop the cliff from which the local shrine stood.
"Anywhere from one to ten men, huh..." Tane Takasu stood atop the cliff, his eyes surveying the festival carefully, his brown hair drifting in the breeze. This curse had plagued the village for generations, and he intended on getting to the bottom of it; this year if possible...
