I am planning on making a free form role play game set in the modern world. Within this game the goal will be to hunt, confine, terminate, and utililize various supernatural game. The first sample hunt will be against a standard apparition and if this goes well I might see about expanding the game. Please create human characters since this occurs in a world where there is no dimensional travel and it is set in more or less the real world. Feel free to create a character for this rp that might have some supernatural potential though even if you need to be a half-supernatural entity to have it. Sign ups are from now until Wednesday of next week. Please as you sign up give me a character profile you desire to use for the game or indicate to me if it is your primary character so I might know what powers the players have to make the game the most interesting I can.

What sort of plots are you going for?

The plot I seek to play out is simply that of a group that seeks to hunt down the supernatural in order to harvest the energy such beings posses. Nothing more than you would have seen in Special Unit 2 or the like will be an opponent for this first test role play. The plot will mostly revolve around dealing with the internal structure of a hunting party as well as taking down a target so one could say this is like a monster hunt event from a massively multiplayer role playing game or one of those super monsters from a standard role play so that it requires a team to take it down.

I joined this site because of the transformations and also the relationship aspect (ie what happens when a MtF tg'ed character ends up getting the attention of the opposite gender....)

I'd be willing to get in on this too, actually. Though I too would like more world information- what's available to us, what sort of universe we come from, etc. You know, how much leeway we have in creation.

Here we go then. Its set in more or less a copy of our Earth around 50-100 years into the future. In an effort to deal with the energy crises due to the loss of oil and such, a new energy source was found and is now in use. While everyone just knows its an effective energy, few know the source. The truth is that there are various special agencies that collect this energy and that it is spectral in origin. This rp will follow along with a specific mercenary type agency as it collects the energy inherent to ghosts, monsters, demons, and such by hunting and 'killing' such things. You pretty much have the limits of your imagination on the technology that would be available since its set on future Earth but there will be some elements of magic. Mostly in the realm of either half-breeds or psychics though so don't expect Digu Volts and Dragon Slaves to be tossed around. To put it more simply, assuming it isn't already too late, exorcism magic will be mostly what would be used. There is a downside to killing these creatures for their energy, one is exposed to a localized impact of sorrows, regrets, and fears as the creature dies. No one stays in the business for long as it is emotionally draining to hunt these things.

Kris, I don't have an specific or intentional tg plotted in this but I could probably work such a thing into the rp somewhere. Especially for the innocent person that gets dragged into the hunt because they now have no choice.

Uh... a few questions:

Is it too late for me to join?

Is it okay if I use a Dante-like character? Like have Ebony, Ivory, and Rebellion, but more spectral-fied? And have Dante, just not half-demon?

Just so I know, when will you be making the official thread?

Official thread will start on Saturday this week so you aren't too late yet. People can tag in if they wish once its started but at that point they will have to play innocents that get wrapped up in the hunt rather than already known hunters. Mimicking Dante is fine but don't name yourself that at the very least. The weapons can stay as they are, ghost aren't the only things that are hunted after all. The organization you all as hunters will be working for provides a special ammo that should work on ghosts and usually sends a supplier with the actual hunters so they can keep their ammo prepped for the specific targets. Say you are after vampires tonight but they are protected by gargoyles. The ammo types would be different. Main key to keep in mind is that ammo based weapons, namely guns, are best against more spectre like foes whereas blades and blunt weapons are best against werewolves and zombie types.

Okay, I guess I need to come up with a good name.
