Fable: The Ties that Bind (RP Thread)

"I take you for someone who needs to lighten up a bit. I'm just trying to make conversation." He waves a hand towards the barkeep. "Would you like anything to wash your meal down with? My treat."

[Haylie]

The woman blinks, uncertain what to think or say. She still blatantly refuses to turn around.

"Alright. Just one pint. Then I'm off to bed."

[muffinstud]

Cletus grins. "Now that's the spirit! Be right back." He returns after a quick moment with two skins and hands one to her. "Now, do you have a name to go along with that pretty face, or should I call you "Girl I Just Met"?" His grin turns into a small, playful smile.

[Haylie]

She pauses again, taking in Cletus's features.

Her own features consist of a tattoo on her face matching her earrings, one triangle going up the bridge of her nose between her eyes, two at diagonals along her cheeks. Her face is pale, contrasting with her black clothing and hair. Her eyes are a dark brown, almost black, half-closed in boredom. Her canine teeth are more pronounced than average. On her forearms is another tattoo, a long triangle like on her face, pointing down her arm to her hand, where what looks like a paw rests on the top. She seems young, but radiates arrogant beauty that screams "I'm out of your league". She doesn't smile back.

"... Katt. Payne. Semi-pro assassin. That's all you need to know."

(Hmmm, maybe a description of Cletus is in order as well...)

It should be duly noted that Cletus is a large man. He is tall, burly and fit, sporting a frame larger than most of the other newcomers. In anyone else, his combination of size and muscle would be intimidating, but his shaved head and comical grin are somewhat disarming.* Black bushy eyebrows frame grey eyes that seem full of energy, much like the rest of him. The only tattoo he wears is a small, curved arrow below his lower lip. His clothes are in no way to be compared with Katt's, being a grey plaid shirt and pale yellow trousers with matching boots.

Cletus rolls his eyes. "All right, no more questions. I get it. I, on the other hand, am an open book. Cletus Fisher is pleased to make your aquaintance, Katt."
Cletus offers the best bow he can while seated, then takes a quaff of his beer.



*It should be noted that in the Fable universe, a shaved head is found respectable and somewhat appealing (at +50 attractiveness and -50 scariness in-game.)

[Haylie]

Katt takes a small sip of ale, tests it on her lips, and takes another drink.

"I guess the feeling is mutual." Another quick sip. "So long as you don't make me angry."

She either has a phobia of questions or could use a good night's sleep. Or is just angry all the time.

[muffinstud]

Cletus chuckles a bit. "I'll try my best not to anger you. You've obviously been in the hero business longer than me."

[Haylie]

"Far longer."

Meanwhile, Crimson appears at the top of the nearby stairs. "Lights out, you lot! Prepare for bed!"

Without another word, Katt gets up and walks toward the stairs, leaving her still half-full ale and plate at the table. Several other students follow suit, but with less determination.

Cletus gets up and finishes the rest of his drink. He looks back to the bar to see the Comb-Over Kid singing about sunshine and teddy bears. Hood is passed out and drooling. "Now there's some good drinking buddies."

He helps the other two up the stairs (and stumbles a couple times on the way) and into the boy's dorms. After taking care of them he unceremoniously slams into the mattress and blacks out.

Lyon was already asleep when lights out was called.

[Haylie]

Crimson climbs back up the stairs he had gone up before after showing the boys their dorm and slams the door. Presumably that's where Scarlet is, as well.

Katt enters the girl's dorm and looks around rather condescendingly.

Aloena nods and hears the call for lights out. She sees Katt enter, and waves to her from her bed. "Hey, it's time for lights out. We'll talk later over breakfast. Good Night, Robin, everyone..." She turns in for the night, listening to the settling of the other roomates.

[Haylie]

(Night-skip! )

Time: 6:53 am.

Crimson bursts out of the door to the Guildmaster's quarters and stomps down the stairs to the boys' dorm. Scarlet follows suit into the girls', more quietly, her cloak flowing behind her.

Crimson bursts into the boys' dorm, startling several of the sleeping youths out of various types of dreams and/or nightmares. "Rise and shine, lazybones! Training starts now. Get dressed, get your weapons, and meet us down in the map room. Get to it!"

Scarlet eases the girls' dorm door open and steps quietly inside, shaking the sleeping girls' shoulders one by one until they wake up, repeating the same basic message of, "It's time to wake up and start training. When you're ready, please come down to the map room with your things."

Cletus slowly gets up and gets dressed. Try as hard as he might, he just can't get his cottonmouth to go away. He grabs a pitcher of water and starts chugging it as he walks down to the map room. He places the half-empty pitcher on a candlestick stand and shakes his head. "I'm never drinking again..."

Aloena is awoken by the Guildmistress as she wipes the sleep from her eyes. Her stomach rumbles..."Are we going to have breakfast before our training, Guildmistress Payne?" She looks around for Robin Locksmith and hopes she is ready for the day as well.
