The Island Part 1 "Are you a Number?"

"Ok." Akane said as she sat on the ground closing her eyes.

"Not neccesarily but its a time consuming choice. At least one in every ten, or some such fraction, of individuals will refuse to do anything until they are left with no choice. Probably even a few that won't do anything until boredom leaves them no choice. The was no offer of a reward for achieving anything, no promise of freedom or survival if any action was taken, or even a request that our group of individuals work together to do some seemingly meaningless handicraft work. Simply wake up in a room and ... nothing, no demands, no requests, nothing. Zip, zilch, nada, none, zero motivations offered or temptations presented. Not the best way to find out anything but how long it takes people to get bored."

"Very well since you answered my questions you may ask three"

"Ok." Akane said as she sat on the ground closing her eyes.

"Now imagine the perfect little house for youself"

"Question one, is there a reason for any of this? Question two, what was the criteria for selection of test samples or was it simply grab a random grouping so as to see the effects on random samples? Question three, what is the air velocity of an unladen European swallow?"

"Answer the first, Yes to test the limits of humanity. The Criteria was entirely random, 42 kilometers per hour.

"Thanks, I always wanted to know that last one. Kept me awake at odd hours of the night, also clears up the question too for that matter. So, want something to eat or am I supposed to wander off into a random direction and no doubt be changed as the others are or have been? I heard the one that Rihatsu or whatever changed earlier and I can only assume the same is to happen to us all."

"Well, this is certainly nice! For a moment there, I thought I'd be transformed again or something!... Wish there were some other people around, though." Sally says to herself as she lies on her back and lets the ocean current carry her to and fro.

*Hmm...let's see I want something livelable and not too small or large, something that has a bathroom, and a good view of the lake...* Akane thought as she was imagining her house.

"Leave or stay, it doesn't really matter. Your staying gives us a new perspective. If you head off you might be transformed into someone elses toy.. or the Toymaker.."

Well she could always go and fix that, there might be people wandering.. or still at the village... or even transformed by others..

"Now think of any furnishings you'd like" Luna continues..

"Meh, swimming around here isn't going to accomplish much. I guess it's time to head out again!"

Sally gets out of the ocean, dries herself off, and begins her journey yet again, this time heading towards the south.

"How is the whole, choosing-a lord-process done? Do we have a book on it?"

*Let's see the basic necesites, a bed, fridge, some tables, a couch, and maybe a wood TV...*

"Okay I wish I had something to do." John says as he goes into the Kitchenette to look around


it has a door outside, some pots, pans, a refrigerator some food inside

"Hmm interesting I wonder if any of this food is safe for consumption. I am sort of hungry." John says as he takes out a glass, pours some Lemonade in it. He sits down at his little table and starts to eat and drink.

"I wonder if they have any soda around here." John said as he continued to eat and drink.

"Meh, swimming around here isn't going to accomplish much. I guess it's time to head out again!"

Sally gets out of the ocean, dries herself off, and begins her journey yet again, this time heading towards the south.

The beach wraps around she can see the otherside of the Library's gated community though the beach goes past that.

"How is the whole, choosing-a lord-process done? Do we have a book on it?"

"We don't know, it seems to have some sort of symbolism.. but no one has found a book"

*Let's see the basic necesites, a bed, fridge, some tables, a couch, and maybe a wood TV...*

"Feel free to try something odd"

"Hmm interesting I wonder if any of this food is safe for consumption. I am sort of hungry." John says as he takes out a glass, pours some Lemonade in it. He sits down at his little table and starts to eat and drink.

as he eats he might notice afew people outside from his windows.

"Are you sure, no one?"

*John finishes eating and drinking and sees the people outside. He then heads out there after putting his plate and glass in the sink.*

"Um okay does anyone have any idea what is going on here? I fell asleep in my bed and I woke up in a strange room." John says addressing the people.
