"An efreet? Interesting. Chione, do you know where any water might be?"

Efreet? Oh, yes, they were desert spirit beings of fire. Dad had used one in one of his novels.... "Water?" Chione said. "I... I do believe I can provide." She'd had a couple instances, not long before being summoned to this school. She hadn't been sure, at first, but now here, she was realizing just what it implied. She didn't know for sure how to control it, but.... "Keep her busy. I need to concentrate. This is still pretty new, to me." A pause. "And I'm sorry in advance if we're all soaked."

Haylie wrote:The dog (now that it's stopped, it's quite obviously an average Golden Retriever) stops and looks around confusedly, certain he'd hit the girl head-on... until she speaks again, in which he turns back around to growl, but doesn't move this time. Quite the intelligent animal. He would be cute if he weren't hostile.

Amy, however, is holding her cane like a rifle, with the tapping end pointed at the haughty girl and the grabbing end against her shoulder, looking down the cane as if through an invisible scope. Considering she's blind, this would look funny if she wasn't looking directly at the fire girl's head, more specifically right between her eyes, and if the end wasn't glowing a gold color. From this small gold orb fires a beam of solid light intent on at the very least incapacitating the girl. It doesn't seem all that strong, however...

Upon being struck, the girl's head burst into flames, only to reform as the light passed. She didn't seem all that inconvenienced though.

As Sandra spoke up, the girl turned to stare at her.

"An efreet. Don't compare me to such a low class brute. I'm something far superior."

As if to echo her words, the girl raised one arm into the air. Gradually the flames surrounding the group began to move coalesce into one much larger flame hovering a few inches above her hand.

/Carl nods./

"Oh well...I'll see if I can make something then, for the time being, at least."

/Massing about with the clay in his hands, Carl starts to form a small figure./

Ian glanced curiously over Carl's shoulder as he worked.
Hmm.... Does anyone actually read these anyway?

Amy seems to recoil from the heat, taking a few steps backward with one hand in front of her face.

"Lovely... fire-based. Okay, I can do this..."

Slowly at first, then with more speed, she begins moving her free finger around the air in front of her. It looks a bit funny, but she seems serious about it.

/Instinctively, Carl pauses for a moment at the intrusion, but then shrugs--they were roommates, after all. No reason to hide his work...

In his has, was a half-formed humanoid figure, made out of the clay--it'd probably be about six inches tall when complete.../

"I'm making a guardian. I doubt it'll be able to fight off anything bigger then a cat maybe, but it should be an early-warning system at least..."

"So rather than a flame djinn you are some other flame creature. I don't suppose you are a phoenix. Alright, let me get her attention while you two work on whatever you are doing."

Sandra mutters something quickly then slashes out with her hand and tossing forward a vacuum blade that passes unimpeded through the flames toward the girl. "Yo bigmouth! Catch."
