Spectral Hunt: Final Night in London

[Haylie]

"Should we pincer 'em in? Might keep 'em from runnin' out the other end."

[Shadell]

Tobias hesitated for a few moments before speaking.

"I think I can handle that." he squeaked out quietly, "But do we have radios or anything to communicate?" he seemed regretful of asking the question. He was certain it was a stupid one and now he would look more like an idiot.

[Raleigh]

"Another team will be coming in from the other end so we are part of a pincer maneuver." He tosses a communications rig to Tobias. "Hook the bit in your ear so you can hear and the mic on your collar. Secure the box to the belt and then get ready. Everyone the frequency for tonight is 34.5 so as to avoid potential conflicts with our other groups." He pops his neck a bit before checking that his clip is the correct one and loading it. "This is going to be messy but oh so worth it." The group will head down once they know the sniper is in position.

[Mistress Guendolen]

Deirdre didn't say anything in response to this except for a simple "Aye." Then she checked to make sure her own clip was securely in place, that the frequency was on the correct one. Then she merely waited, grounding herself. It would be more tiring to just fly in with her abilities, after all. She always did best when focusing beforehand. Even if it only took a moment.

[Shadell]

"I-I-I understand." Tobias stuttered out as he grasped the sound device with a trembling hand. After fumbling for a few minutes he managed to affix the device correctly. Then he was gone, dashing off clumsily toward his position.

"I'll make sure to get there as soon as possible!" He shouted back, "I'm sorry for making you wait." as if it was his fault he wasn't already at the sniping location.

[Raleigh]

"They always are nervous on their first hunt, ehh?"

[Haylie]

"Tell me about it," Ansgar replied, checking his clips and device frequency. "I could hardly hold my pistol my first time. I threw up afterward. 'Course, they weren't werewolves."

[Mistress Guendolen]

Deirdre nodded. "Aye, I remember the feeling all too well. Like my veins were filled with ice water.... It was all I could do to remember basic incantations. Though I have to say, this kid's gotten into a big one, here." Usually the newbies weren't sent out on runs this large, for their first venture.

[Raleigh]

"Big ops need a lot of man power, sad to say. With any luck we can make sure he's one of them that live to see a second one."

[Haylie]

"And that's all they could spare? These cutbacks are gonna kill us all." Ansgar rolls his eyes and shakes his head.

[Mistress Guendolen]

"More like the end result of the cutbacks," Deirdre commented. "We just have to watch each other's backs as well as our own, these days...." She adjusted her clip. "We ready to head in?"

[Shadell]

Tobias' hesitant voice burst in over the intercom. "I'm all set up here." he said. Unfortunately his mike had been turned up a tad too loud and the rather quiet statement instead came out at the approximate volume of a scream.

"S-s-sorry about that." he came in again, much quieter.

[Raleigh]

"Yowza! That hurt. Alright, lets get cracking." Rick begins to descend the stairs first, gun at the ready. After checking to make sure that the path is clear so far he signals the others to follow in behind him.

[Mistress Guendolen]

Deirdre just nodded. "Aye." Her ears were still popping from the overloud frequency, she swore.... But now was not the time to dwell on that. Her hand delved into the pocket of her coat as she moved, the garment flapping around her legs. Ready to begin. Think defensive first; warding, shielding. Let the fire power do the assault. Defense had always been a key part of her strategy.

[Haylie]

The only sign that Ansgar was even paying attention to the scream was he removed the earphone for a brief moment, winking one eye in mild discomfort. He then began quietly following the other two, his boots muffled by his thick coat, his pistol at the ready. "I smell an ambush."
