[Mistress Guendolen]

"What's that from?" Chione's brow furrowed a bit as she thought. "It rings a bell, but I can't quite place where I heard it."

[Haylie]

"It's an excerpt from Matthew 6:24: 'No one can serve two masters, because either he will hate one and love the other, or be loyal to one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and riches'."

[Raleigh]

Sandra chuckles to herself about her room mate's interactions. "Glad to meet the both of you then. I suspect we will be getting along fine enough. As for as fighting goes, my dad had me enlisted in various martial art classes most of my life. No master by any ones definition but I can help either of you here or there, I think. Not a lot of down time really, classes on martial arts then science and then once I'm home we would spend most of the night working on various theories he had encountered in the texts he owned as well as what he had cooked up. I don't suppose either of you might be familiar with alternate realities by any chance."

[Mistress Guendolen]

Chiona listened to Sandra, eyes getting steadily wider as the other girl spoke. At the last question, she shook her head, a slow, steady movement. "No.... I'm sorry, I'm afraid I'm really not...." It sounded to her like Sandra hadn't had much time for fun. Made to help with scientific experiments in her spare time? Unless she loved science, that would be a terrible bore.

[Shadell]

/Carl nods, half-seriously./

"I doubt they'd hand us some beds just like that anyways--He made it clear that they weren't going to cushion us...and I guess he meant it literally."

/He shrugs./

"I for one, don't really have the extra cash to go buy a bed, so I'm going to settle for this, at least for now. You heard him though--we're self-governing, to a point, right? You could go and try and grab of these mats from someone else's room to stack up or something..."

Ian frowned. "That is troublesome." He muttered to himself.

"What are everybody's abilities?" he asked after a few moments of thought. "I don't think you're the only person who has the bright idea of stealing these..." he trailed off searching for an appropriate word, "beds." he decided, though he said it with as much loathing as possible, "And it would be good to know what we can do if someone doesn't want to take no for an answer."

[Haylie]

"Actually, yes. Very much so." Amy says this as if everyone on the planet above three minuets should know it by now. "I've actually been to a few."

[Raleigh]

"I can tell by your look there, Chione, that you think I've had no fun. I can assure you I've enjoyed most of my life. Its been interesting to learn the things I have. Dad was always, almost manically, obsessed with making sure I had a chance to learn as much as I could while I was young. Something about him not getting the chance until he was in his early 30's and there not being enough time or something." Sandra turns to Amy. "Then do you know of one from which small creatures, no larger than a wharf rat, could have come from? They scurry about and like to destroy things usually by eating them. Didn't seem to matter what it was made of they would eat it anyway."

[Alissa of Someday]

/Carl hesitates slightly, and then shrugs--there was no harm in telling right? They were roommates after all.../

"I can make golems."

/Pausing, he hastened to add:/

"--Nothing too impressive, really. And you?"

[Haylie]

Amy thinks for a moment, bringing one hand to her chin. "It sounds familiar, but I can't say for certain. I'm not sent on many search-and-destroy missions, mostly just information-gathering. I don't think I've ever come across one. Sorry I can't help you."

[Mistress Guendolen]

"Well- um- I guess as long as you were enjoying it, that's what matters...." Chione would have found mountains upon mountains of science deadly dull, but everyone was different, right? "It's good you were happy and weren't being forced to do it, you know?" She bit her nail. "I'm sorry if I came off as rude," she added in a low voice.

Ian beamed proudly. "I pull things out of my hat!" he exclaimed brightly.

"Err...." He ammended, "It's nowhere near as lame as it sounds. It's actually quite cool, and it doesn't need to be my hat, just any round hole that people can't see into."

[Shadowmaster]

"Hmmm...interesting." Noah says. "I use necromancy." he says. "It's...pretty creepy, I suppose."

[Alissa of Someday]

/At the mention of necromancy, Carl frowns just slightly, but says nothing, about it--at least not yet, turning instead to Ian./

"Uh...That's an interesting skill then...What kind of things can you pull out?"

[Haylie]

"Oh, I'm sure it's fine. After all, we all deserve a second chance, right?"

Amy spreads her arms, awaiting mutual acceptance.

[Shadell]

Ian beamed. He hadn't made it sound as dumb as he'd feared.

"Weapons mostly, though they tend to have a lot of different abilities." He stated after a few moments of thought.

The door to the girl's room was abruptly slammed to the side carelessly. A short girl with long blond hair imperiously walked into their room.

"Scram." She stated harshly, gesturing for the room's rightful occupants to leave.
