Seeing this, Mathew changes his goal toward looking for any way to shut the furnace off.

As Alissa moves, Mathew immediately scurries under a much large pile of rubble.

Seeing that she's distracted, and that he's out of sight for the moment, Mathew sneaks toward the fuel, intent on pushing at least a few containers over, an act that would likely make opening the furnace rather dangerous.

Kimiko sighs connecting to Tina. "Bring me that plushie."

/She quickly attempts to snatch the doll as it futilely attempts to push down the fuel.../

Mathew struggles to escape but is snatched.

/opening the door, careful to not let go of the crab, she begins making her way back to the Dean./

"Were you sent by that girl?"

Mathew doesn't answer, he's given them no reason to believe he's capable of speech, much less human intelligence.

((Animals would usually retreat or play dead if suddenly surrounded by strange things. They're also capable of seeking cover and avoiding fire. Likewise with stealth. Granted the fuel tanks were a bit unusual, but it would be hard to notice precisely what he was attempting just by looking.))
