Sherman Hemsley most famous for his role as George Jefferson on All in the Family and The Jeffersons was found dead yesterday in his home at age 74

Chad Everett age 76 was also found dead as a result of Lung Cancer.

Johnny Pesky, a former pro athlete, manager and coach whose number is amongst those retired by the Boston Red Sox, died on Monday at 92 years of age.

Phyllis Diller, age 95, has just passed away.

Michael Clark Duncan, 54, known for his roles in the Green Mile, the Planet of the Apes remake (as Atta, the Gorilla General), and the Kingpin in Daredevil, has passed away of a heart attack.

South Korean Uniification Church patriarch Reverend Moon has passed away.

NASA Lunar Pioneer Neil Armstrong, the first man to set foot on the Moon on July 1969, has passed away.

Sylvester Stallone's sister and son passed away.

Malcolm Browne, the photographer who shot the infamous burning Buddhist monk in Vietnam, has passed away from Parkinson's disease. The Buddhist monks in Vietnam during the reign of Diem Ngo, South Vietnamese President, were being persecuted by Diem's secret police during the late 1950's and early 1960's. In protest of their persecution, the monks set themselves on fire.

Art Moddel, former Cleveland Browns and Baltimore Ravens owner, has passed away at the age of 87. His moving the old Cleveland Browns NFL team to Baltimore in 1994 gained scorn from the Cleveland, Ohio community. Moddel donated money to various places in Baltimore and got to see the team's only Super Bowl victory in 2001.

This concerns more the residents of Michigan than of the world at large, but weatherman Sonny Eliot died on Thursday. Sunny worked for WWJ News Radio 950 for more than 60 years, sandwiching the weather forecast between a barrage of jokes and quips ('sunny' and 'mild' conditions would become 'smild', for example), and was a well-known icon in the Detroit area.

Larry Hagman, actor famous for his roles on "I Dream of Jeannie" and "Dallas" has died at the age of 81.

Former Boston Celtic and current Houston Rockets head coach Kevin McHale's daughter Sasha, age 23, Lupus.

Hector "Macho" Camacho, Puerto Rican Boxer, was shot and then taken off life support.

About four months late in reporting this since I was never aware of it. Anyway, Donald J. Sobol died in mid-July at the age of 87. Mr. Sobol was known for the Encyclopedia Brown series of children's books, and it was a project he was involved in up until about a month before his death.
