Somehow, this slipped under my radar...

After seeing the trailer, I'm guardedly optimistic, the transition from plane crash to terrorists seems a little odd in terms of switching origins, but I suppose the aneurysm could still be there....

I think that is the current 616 origin since Vietcong sort of date the character.

Doesn't Iron man have more origin sotires then batman has robin incarnations?

Just saying. Becaues I recall quite a few from different cartoons, books, ect. Luckly thow they always fellow the same fumla so it wasn't that jaring.

Rich guy does [x].
When he does this [Y] happens.
He then gettes a robotic heart thingy to stay alive, and a suit witch runs off of it.

Iron Man's origin is pretty straight forward.

Tony Stark goes to the veitcong, steps on a land mine, peice of shrapnel gets lodged close to his heart, and moving closer. The gurellia group that captures him, forces him to make a weapon for them. He makes the weapon, which keeps the shrapnel from moving closer, takes out the guys. And lo, Iron Man.

The other origins are basically adapted to a different medium. They don't actually mean accuracy.

Well like much of the Marvel universe every so often they move when it happened forward and adapt things to more recent events so as to make it sound less dated.

Yeah, this is one of the better updates. The veitcong really aren't a threat now. But some of the cartoon updates are kinda bad.

I won't watch this unless I have nothing better to do, and if we end up owning it on DVD or if it happens to be the only thing to watch that I haven't seen. I mean, it's another one of those movies from another one of those comics where I just don't see the appeal.

I think it'd be funny if they did what they usually do, by making a movie similar to Iron man around the same time. If they did, and called it Iron maiden, I'd laugh. Well, not really, but I'd still find it amusing.

And I didn't see what you did there. It went right over my head. ;/

Speaking of "super suits", though... In my biased opinion a magical seifuku is better than Iron man's. ;p

I was referencing Eddie the Head, mascot for the band "Iron Maiden".
