That should be punishable by anime binge until your eyes bleed. I mean, it's got transformation, comedy, action, and it's popular enough.

What's wrong with you!? U_U

Firstly because two of those points your brought up about what's 'going for it' are utterly meaningless to me. :P

Secondly, the style of it doesn't appeal to me.

Thirdly, it would cost money for me to even be exposed to it. And I don't have the money or drive to pursue less than legal means to watch it.

Edit: And there's surely better stuff out there as well.

An anime binge until your eyes bleed is watching DBZ in its entirety

which I will do, one of these days, once I finish collecting all the series :D I'm up to season 5 (Cell Saga)

Ranma 1/2 was the first anime I ever bought as it came out and its movies.

I don't think anything aside for maybe Robotech has a place in my heart like Ranma 1/2

The bizarre combat in Ranma made me laugh, although I didn't care for all the coupling BS and the reasons Ranma wound up in fights (Obstinate stupidity, usually).

The nonstop Ranma & Akane merrygoround whirling round and round from "Aww... Ranma... <3" to "Ranma you jerk!" made me puke more than once.

Ranma 1/2 was one of the first Animes I ever watched, next to Robotech, MegaMan, and DBZ. All of which kicks so much tail. Those four animes completely my childhood. I had awesome robot battles, Goku kicking butt in awesome epic battles, my favorite video game character, and of coarse my anime dedicated to humor. I have a pirated copy of the first season. I did have a chance to pick up the DVD collection two years ago for $20 and I have been kicking myself in the pants ever since.

Robot chicken did a Ranma 1/2 reference when the nerd guy, Arthur Kensington, Jr, discovers the Spring of the Drowned Girl and fantasizes about having a girl's body, and going to the girl's bathhouse, until one girl mentioned Ranma changing back into a boy when splashed with hot water.
