SARCASM ALERT

Monday, November 6th, 2006

EVERYONE knows when I’m being sarcastic~ But seriously, while reading online lately, I came across a proposal for the “snark”, a punctuation mark meant to convey sarcasm. While normally this would be a variation of the period-tilde, another page linked from there had proposed merely the tilde. Furthermore, considering EVERYONE wants to type two characters, there will be no reason at all to switch to ~ as a shorthand~ Which is to say that I suspect tilde would become the shorthand anyway. Besides, no one ever uses the tilde normally anyways (save UNIX users and Japanese song titles, and even then those are special cases), so why not just shortcut to the more logical tilde? It makes sense, is easier to write, and then NO ONE will EVER mistake my sarcasm for a blanket statement EVER AGAIN~

Join me and spread the goodness of the sarcasm mark!
